| November 2020 | Mighty Earth RRR31 alleged that a total of 71 hectares of forest was cleared in Period One (June – November 2019) and Period Two (December 2019 – May 2020) in the Perbadanan Pertanian Negari Pahang, PKNP (Tembeling) concession. A further 22 hectares of forest was cleared between the three-month period of December 2019 – May 2020 and 27 October 2020.
The concession is owned by Perbadanan Pertanian Negari Pahang (PKNP), a company owned by the state of Pahang. Another company owned by the state of Pahang is a supplier of Musim Mas, namely LKPP Corporation Sdn Bhd. As such, Mighty Earth linked both companies to Musim Mas supply chain. |

| PKPP Plantation Sdn Bhd (PKPP) clarified that PKPP and PKNP are separate entities. Although the two agencies were established by the Government of Pahang, they were formed for different purposes and are managed separately. PKPP do not own any land in Tembeling. Both entities are operating independently from each other.
Because of the direct state ownership, we conclude that PKNP and PKPP cannot be considered as forming a group. This case is therefore considered closed. |
