Singapore – Transparency in the supply chain has been high on the agenda in the Palm Oil industry, in particular, the calls for Palm Oil companies to publish supplier concession maps.
Musim Mas will encourage its suppliers to voluntarily publish the data online, in line with the Group’s current practice of making all its wholly owned and subsidiaries’ concession maps publicly available. The Group joins its peers, as members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), such as Golden Agri-Resources, Sime Darby, Wilmar International and Cargill, in making a joint appeal to the third-party supplier groups to adopt the same practice too.
The publication of concession maps on online platforms such as the Global Forest Watch (GFW) of the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the suppliers’ corporate websites will promote transparency and reinforce the belief that the Palm Oil industry is operating in a legal and sustainable manner.
The Group would like to reiterate that government support is also crucial to facilitate the publication of concession maps.
