Earthworm Foundation’s Areas for Priority Transformation (APT) program is a multi-stakeholder working group in Aceh. Musim Mas is a funder of the APT program and has been a member of the APT Working Group since 2017.
The program now focuses on three areas: Aceh Selatan, Subulussalam, and Aceh Singkil. This program aims to reduce deforestation and demonstrate the feasibility of balancing commodity production, conservation, and good social and labour practices at scale. To accomplish this, the program focuses on three mutually reinforcing areas of work: integrated land use planning with the government via a participatory mapping approach, assisting the planning and drafting of village policy, NDPE support and training for industry, and intensive capacity-building for communities on the forest frontier.
Following engagement with the local government, we secured support to conduct Participatory Mapping (PM) and Land Tenure Study (LTS) workshops in the Subulussalam District. Musim Mas will continue to focus on these critical areas experiencing deforestation, labour, and social issues.
