PT Ensem Sawita, PT Mopoli Raya, PTPN I, and Musim Mas
PT Ensem Sawita:
In partnership with another palm oil company, Musim Mas engaged with PT Ensem Sawita and the agents and smallholders who supply them. PT Ensem Sawita achieved 100% traceability to plantation in 2019 through multiple traceability training and by educating the mill’s suppliers on the importance of conserving the Leuser Ecosystem and the land on which they operate.
We are providing further support to them to ensure the implementation of proper standard operating procedures to monitor the FFB received from smallholders. More on our engagement with Ensem Sawita can be found here.
PT Mopoli Raya:
Since 2015, Musim Mas has been actively engaging with PT Mopoli Raya to improve the mill’s sustainability policy and practices, including a requirement that they implement the same policies and practices for their suppliers. Our engagement with the mill continued even though we put our purchases from them on hold.
In March 2019, we saw the strong commitment by PT Mopoli Raya towards sustainability through relevant documents shared with us. In April 2019, we continued the business relationship with PT Mopoli Raya due to their commitment to sustainability. Their progress was also commended by Rainforest Action Network here.
More on our engagement with PT Mopoli Raya here. Find out more about Musim Mas’ Smallholder programs here.
Perkebunan Nusantara I (PTPN I):
We also kept in continuous engagement with our long-standing supplier of over ten years, Perkebunan Nusantara I (PTPN I). Despite many challenges within its journey, we see PTPN I as a committed supplier who is determined to show its dedication towards Sustainability. Our supplier engagement journey with PTPN I can be found in the blog section, and we have published a video of our interview with PTPN I here.
